Tasting Room

Great wine deserves great food

Indeed each is better with the other — an ideal marriage. That’s why our Tasting Room and Chef’s Farm Table is central to the Pippin Hill experience. We welcome guests to enjoy our estate wines while savoring Virginia’s most exciting cuisine (and view). From house-made pate with Cabernet Sauvignon jelly to Pippin Hill sliders, Chef Scatena highlights the freshest ingredients from local farms, including our own Chef’s Garden, with seasonal menus that showcase our wines.

Vineyard-to-Table Cuisine

A Fresh Twist on an Old World Winery

Pippin Hill’s vineyard, garden, farm and kitchen are seamlessly interwoven. We tend our vines in tandem with growing fresh herbs and vegetables, and Pippin Hill menus and products are inspired by our wines and vines. Grown here, enjoyed here; from vineyard-to-table, everything is fresh, local, sustainable and delicious. To raise a glass and enjoy a meal at Pippin Hill is to celebrate the goodness and bounty of this place.

Featured Farmer Fridays

Mini Farmers Market this Fall

Each Friday this Fall, we host a mini farmers’ market on our Tasting Room Veranda with two local farmers to showcase and sell their products. To bring you a true farm to table experience, our chef Bill Scatena will work with these local farmers to create a Friday special to highlight their locally grown produce. Here at Pippin Hill we believe sustainably grown food and wine not only tastes better for you but is better for you!

Hosted by Chef Scatena

The only thing that Chef Bill Scatena loves as much as cooking for other people is igniting that passion in others. “To me cooking is all about sharing. I love sharing food that I’ve prepared, and sharing insight on how to prepare it,” he says. “I like taking the mystery out of it for people.” With patience, humor and lots of tricks tucked in his apron, Chef Scatena will inspire and delight you, and send you home with new recipes and skills.
