We are thrilled to announce that six of our world-class wines have been recognized by the 2018 Virginia Governor’s Cup! Each year, the Virginia Wineries Association partners with the Virginia Wine Board & Virginia Vineyards Association to host one of the most competitive and well-respected wine competitions in the nation. We are honored to receive four gold medals and two silver medals from the prestigious contest. The competition is led by the Judging Director Jay Youmans who is one of only forty-five Masters of Wine in the United States. In addition, he is the owner of Capital Wine School and Rock Creek Wine Merchants. Youmans oversees an elite group of twelve experienced judges who carefully score each wine entry. This year, the Virginia Governor’s Cup received over 440 entries from a hundred Virginia wineries. The esteemed judging panel rates each wine based on its appearance, aroma, flavor, overall quality, and commercial suitability. Each wine’s average score determines if it qualifies for a metal. We are proud to say that some of our wines landed among the top scorers.
