Let’s start with our Carne Asada recipe.
1 lb Hanger Steak, cut into 1/2 inch. slices
1/4 cup Orange Juice
1/4 cup Lemon Juice
1/4 cup Lime Juice
2 cloves Garlic, minced
3 teaspoons Soy Sauce
2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
2 teaspoons Paprika
1 teaspoon Cayenne
2 teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
1/2 bunch Cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup Grapeseed Oil
1 Yellow Onion, julienned
Whisk together the orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, cumin, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and cilantro. Slowly drizzle in the grapeseed oil. Reserve 1/2 cup of the marinade and set aside. Put the rest of the marinade in a large covered bowl or ziploc bag.
On a separate work surface, remove the steak and pound with a mallet until thin. Add to the marinade. Mix the onion and garlic in, then chill overnight.
When ready to cook, prepare your grill for medium-high heat. Char the steak until medium rare (about 5 minutes on each side). Remove from heat and pour the reserved marinade over the top of the steak before serving.
